Éric WONANU

Visual Artist & Art Curator

Born on June 22, 1973 in Lomé, Éric WONANU is a Togolese visual artist and art curator. He graduated from the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and holds a degree in Information and Communication Sciences from Paris X – Nanterre University, France.

His artistic work is deeply rooted in the exploration of the human condition, revealing the complexity and fragility of our species.

Éric WONANU has exhibited his artworks in numerous exhibitions across Africa and abroad and has led public talks and conferences on contemporary art in Africa. As a curator, he is deeply involved in curatorial practices that challenge and expand perspectives on African creativity.

Recipient of several national and international awards, Éric WONANU’s work blends conceptual depth, aesthetic tension, and emotional resonance.
